Price Strategy

We bring extensive price strategy experience through techniques to lower your overall pricing. We incorporate several metrics into our pricing analysis including a client’s vulnerability and tolerance for risk, and price modeling techniques such as game theory, reality modeling, and rate averages. This allows our clients to price more effectively for both IDIQs (CPFF, FFP, T&M) and single-award FFP programs.

Price to Win

Sobis provides Price to Win (PTW) support to develop a detailed, results-based assessment of the price that your competitors are most likely to bid. Our support often reveals new opportunities on how our clients can provide a lower price, better value, or when there might be room to bid higher, thus not leaving “money on the table”.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

The Sobis GIS Team develops and delivers geospatial products and services that provide ongoing value to clients. Sobis geospatial experts have nearly 60 years of collective professional experience providing geospatial services and has developed hundreds of custom map products for local, tribal, state, federal, and international clients over the last five years alone. The team includes expertise in data conversion and integration, custom mapping, database management, visualization, and analytics. The GIS practitioners are experts in map production processes and ensure that deliverables exceed client specifications for attribution and metadata compliance.

Sobis has experience providing geospatial desktop and mobile applications that are linked through common servers and allow for data and information sharing among all users. We bring experience in developing solutions utilizing proprietary and non-proprietary applications, such as the Esri ArcGIS Suite, C#, C++, Java JavaScript, Python, OpenGIS, GDAL, PostgreSQL, SpatiaLite, SQLite, SQL, and MySQL. The GIS Team has also developed solutions for web and mobile application using native code for iOS and Android, as well as building content management systems using Drupal and WordPress, leveraging custom CSS, PHP, and HTML coding.

Project Highlight

For Vision Planning and Consulting, Sobis developed GIS maps to support the Howard County, Maryland Historic Resources Hazard Mitigation Plan. These maps showed individual property impacts from floods, wildfire, and high winds.

Database Design, Development, & Management

Many of our projects have a database component to them and our database administrators work with the overall team to better integrate a database solution that will meet and exceed your needs. Our Team has developed and managed databases with climate, natural hazard, demographic, structural, environmental, valuation, compensation, vulnerability, risk, and other data.

Sobis works with you to identify a database solution that meets your needs. Our team of database administrators will work with you up front to identify the project requirements. Next, they evaluate the available resources, requirements, and software and hardware needs to determine an approach. As the database project takes shape, our Team will provide periodic updates and demonstrations to help assure appropriate functionality and adherence to the agreed upon schedule. Our three-phase quality control process completes the process and ensures a tested and high-quality product.

GIS Map

Project Highlight

For the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and later for the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Zambia, Sobis developed a secure database to identify and quantify the impacts of the water and sewer infrastructure projects in Lusaka, Zambia. Sobis employees set up and maintained a database for the engineering firm doing the property and census surveys. At the end of the project Sobis provided training on accessing and using the data to the MCA.
